A scene needs time, a surface full of bottles, and an audience, even if the audience is only you feeling elaborate. A workday has none of those. The routine that outlasts a scene is the one that still happens when you are late. Cleanse at night without a performance. One treatment or none. A cream. Sunscreen before you leave, because the commute is the sun exposure people forget while they debate a serum. If that set takes longer than making coffee, it will be the thing you drop.
Scenes are allowed on a quiet Sunday. They are a poor identity for skin, because Sunday is a minority of your life. The cheek you have is the product of the other days. People who look consistently comfortable are rarely doing ten steps. They are doing four, including the sunscreen, and they are not restarting the plan every time a new texture is fashionable.
Shrink the weekday version until it is automatic, then stop apologizing for how plain it looks. Plain is what makes it survive a meeting that runs late. The scene can stay a hobby. It should not be the method.
