How to Read a New Skincare Launch
A launch is a date. A good formula is a behavior you can still describe in six months.

Product launches are timed for attention, not for your barrier. A new cream can be excellent and still be the wrong week to start it, because you changed your serum on Monday. The analytical habit is to separate the formula from the moment. What is the active, at a concentration you can live with? What job does it replace on your shelf? What happens if you stop it?
Most “best of” seasons reward the story: a new texture, a founder, a limited jar. Stories do not reduce transepidermal water loss. If the launch is a cleanser, judge it by how your face feels twenty minutes later, not by the foam. If it is a treatment, introduce it alone, twice a week, and give it a month before you decide it failed. A week is a mood. A month is data.
You do not owe a launch your routine. Keep the products that already do their jobs. Let one new thing audition. If it cannot retire something you already own, it is a guest, and guests should not rearrange the bathroom.
