What a First Facial Should Explain
A first facial should explain itself. Extractions and current are optional, not a test of nerve.

A first facial disappoints people who arrive expecting a movie: clay, cucumber, silence. A professional facial is closer to a skin exam with treatment attached. Someone looks at the surface under a lamp, asks what you use at home, and then decides how much to do. You can refuse extractions. They are useful when pores are clogged and the skin can tolerate them. They are a poor introduction if you are already nervous or your barrier is raw. Saying so is not a failure of commitment.
The Danucera Sculpt & Lift is a reasonable first appointment because the steps are legible. A cleansing balm, steam or a warm towel, hands-on work, then low-level current through a conductive layer. Current can feel odd. Some people notice a metallic taste when the probes pass near the mouth. That is the circuit, not a sign that something has gone wrong. The intensity should be turned down until you can stay relaxed. “Pilates for the face” is a fair metaphor only if the trainer is watching you, not the machine.
Leave with one instruction you will follow, not a bag you will ignore. Sunscreen the next day matters more than a new serum. If the skin looks pink, skip acids that night. A first facial is successful when you understand what happened and you would book a second one on purpose.
