How to Judge a Product After the First Month

The first week is a mood. The fourth week is information.

Most products are judged on night one: the smell, the slip, whether the face tingled. Those are impressions. A month is long enough to see whether congestion eased, whether the barrier got angrier, and whether you still reach for the bottle when you are tired. If you changed three things at once, you do not have a result. You have a pile.

Look in daylight, not only in the bathroom at midnight. Useful signs are boring. Fewer tight mornings. Makeup sitting more evenly. Less picking at the chin. A product that only looks good in the mirror you check after applying it is a cosmetic effect, which is fine, but it is not a treatment. Write down the job you hired it for, then ask if that job improved.

If the month made skin calmer and you are still using it, keep it and let something else go. If nothing changed except the clutter, stop. Loyalty to a jar is not a method. The next month should have fewer unknowns, not a replacement bought out of impatience.
